On Aug 2 Sergeant Benjamin Moore company com-pany I Wyoming volunteers died from dysentery and was burled at sea Corporal Thomas Olson company p Wyoming died at Nagasaki and was burled ashore Corporal David liar rold company K North Dakota volunteers vol-unteers died Aug 1 at se1 The body was brought here on the Grant Fred Durham a hospital stewart became violently Insane Aug 3 and jumped overboard A boat was lowered low-ered immediately but no trace of the unfortunate man could be found The Grant brings the following troops Thirty officers and 516 enlisted men of the First North Dakota Ihfn try United States volunteers 28 officers cers and 445 enlisted men of the First Idaho Infantry United States volunteers volun-teers 12 officers and 2H enlIsted men of battery A Wyoming light artillery United States volunteers 8 officers and 84 dIscharged soldier 2 convalescent patents 7 naval prfsoners 2 naval hospital sengers patents and 4 civIlian pas Had a Small Pox Scare An alleged case of smallpox was discovered dis-covered on the Grant and caused no end of trouble The vessel was ordered or-dered into quarantine at Yokohama and the suspect taken ashore All hands and baggage were fumigated and the ship was detained two days A fireman Robert Starl died and was burled at sea Everybody was thoroughly alarmed at the prospect of spending three or four weeks in quarantine quar-antine but I is now known that the doctors were mistaken No news was obtainable tonight concerning con-cerning Corporal Williams of the Utah batter who was I f at Nagasaki on account of Illness
