Show DENVER PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS Work to Begin on Them at Once to Help the Unemployed DENVER July 29The city was quiet all day and indications are that the expected ex-pected outbreak among the unemployed will not occur There were no signs of agitation today although the superintendent superin-tendent of the Union Pacific railway petitioned pe-titioned the city county and state authoriti to afford his road protection against the crowds desirous of going east The company it willing to carry a moderate moder-ate amount of persons but objects to hauling train loads No action was taken by the authorities One thousand persons per-sons wera fed today at Camp Relief About 500 left on the different roads At a meeting of the relief committee tonight to-night it was decided to discontinue camp relief next Thursday morning It was also resolved that the transportation committee com-mittee would not issue any further tickets tick-ets to those desiring to go east but beginning be-ginning tomorroW morning those going will haveto pay full fare The above action was caused by the decision ot the city council to begin at once public improvements im-provements Men with families will be given preference in obtaining employ mention the public works |
