Show THE B1METAZMC CONVENTION i Letter Recoiled at the Chamber of Commerce In reply to the circular of Aug 15 caning can-ing for the PanAmerican bimetallic convention con-vention which was published in last Sundays HERALD the chamber of commerce I com-merce wrote for information regarding the number of delegates that should be I sent from Salt Lake The following reply was received yesterday DENVER Cob Aug 29 1893 DEAR SIR Replying to your favor of the 26thI will say that at first we thought it best to fix arbitrary basis of representation repre-sentation believing that the different commercial bodies throughout the coun try would send as many representative men as < could be induced to co and I am i o a ii a 0 i J sure no question will be raised in the convention as to the right of delegates to participate in the deliberations on this account Colonel FIsk has suggested however within a day or two that a basis had better be arranged and something of the kind may be issued soon I so I will mail you a copy This convention is bound to be a great success Salt Lake is very much interested inter-ested and I hop a good delegation will respond from Utah when the roll is called Respectfully yours OLNEY NEWELL Secretary |
