To Celebrate Bismarcks Birthday Special to THE HEKALD Examiner Cable BERLIN March 2iThe association of German manufacturers are going to a great expense in their intended celebration of Prince Bismarcks birthday which is April 1 Their action is prompted they j i say from gratitude for the protection which Bismarck always assured to German manufacturers The association will present pre-sent to the prince a valuable silver service designed by Leyden one of the first artists in Germany and who designed the service I that was presented to the Emperor on the I occasion of his marriage The subscrip tions for this present were so numerous that a largo balance was left over and with this surplus an estate near Friearicbsruhe i has been bought and presented to Bismarck as an addition to his own grounds This 5 estate belongs to a manufacturer who in tended building on it a large boarding house for the accommodation of the great number of people who made excursions 11 excurlns to this place to see Bismarck The idea ota ot-a boarding house annoyed the prince who feared that his rest would be disturbed thereby and he tried to buy the property from the man but was never able to arrange ar-range the price This present Swill S-will be very acceptable to him
