Show OUT WITH FLYING COLORS Satisfactory Report on Provo Woolen Wool-en Mills Militia Cloth The local officials of the Provo Woolen Wool-en M ills company yesterday received very satisfactory news from the San Francisco agent of the company regarding re-garding the investigation into the merits mer-its of the uniform cloth furnished to the California state militia The examining exam-ining board declares in its ofiioial report re-port that the cloth Is superior to the sample upon which the bids were based In fact the material meets every requirement and the action of the state uniform board in awarding the contract to the local mills was approved Utah has been fully vindicated vindi-cated The causes which led to the investigation investi-gation were the many complaints made by one of the militia inspectors and members of the companies thus far uniformed These men declared that the cloth was veryinferior to that used in the regular service The dyeing they claimed was poor and the color came off on the men leaving their bodies discolored and looking like a lot of overpunched pugilists Arms and necks were striped in great variety and the men vied with each other m the thoroughness of the discoloration Some might even pass themselves off as Easter eggs Now however the complaints have been proven groundless During the investigation the services of expert chemists were secured and the tests were made in the presence of three of California woolen manufacturers |
