Show BOARD 01 EDUCATION But Little Business Transacted at Last Nights Meeting The Contract Let for the Erection of the Sixth School Mora Sites Ottered Deed Approved The board of education met last evening at the usual hour and in the absence of Mayor Baskin Vice President Nelson occupied the chair The trustees in attendance were Messrs Ali Young Pratt Newman Raybould Duke and Baldwin A CONTRACT FOR ANOTHER SCHOOL HOUSE The committee on sites and buildings reported that bids had been received for the sixth school as per revised plans of Monheim Bird k Proud foot the lowest being 5 4800 and the highest 2904S Selma U Watson being the lowest bidder bid-der The committee recommended that Mr Watson bo awarded the contract Adopted LECTURES ON PEDAGOGY The teachers in the public schools asked for the use of the High school assembly room from 4 to 5 p m of each day from May 2 until May 7 the object being to have a course of lectures ou pedagogy delivered by Dr Gordy of the Ohio university Committee on school work SCHOOL SITES OFFERED G H Guiver notified the board that he would accept S5SOO for a school site 10x10 facing north and west on I and First streets John C Smith offered a lot 10x10 rods on the corner of Seventh South and Third East for the sum of S12COO Committee on sites and building build-ing T A Wickersham offered all of lot 7 block 18 plat A for the sum of 11500 Committee on sites and buildings THE DEED IS 0 K The committee on sites and buildings reported re-ported that the deed for the Hooper site had been approved by Attorney P L Williams and an appropriation of SI35CO was asked fcr Adopted |
