Show I NEW ROAD 10 THE COAL MINES To the Editor of the HERALD When we think that during an ordinary snowy winter the Utah Central is tied up and out of business practically it would 1 j doubtless bs the height of folly for the pea j pie of this city to pin its faith to such a source in looking for relief from present I coal difficulties itis simply out of the question if for no I other reason because it is known that it I t has been barely possible to pull two I coaches over their grades Wero tho road reconstructed with u view to economical < and eniarged working capacity the idea i would be good That is it would be good were it not for the fact that the Utah Central Cen-tral is in the vary nature of matters destined des-tined to be a link in a transcuntinental sys tem which would doubtless do as do existing I exist-ing roads gather in everything in sight for I individual benefit leaving tbe dear public to be dd I What should be done is to build a road direct from this city to the coal mines I with the control always in the bands of home men We hope this will bo done before another I winter overtakes us H |
