sale of intoxicating liquors Also favorably C B 91 amending J section C374 compiled laws relating to special verdicts This provides that no jury shall be compelled to give a general gen-eral verdict so that they may not find a special verdict showing the facts respecting re-specting which the issue is joined and therein require the judgment of the court upon such facts Also adversely H B 103 to prevent officers and members of police of cities of the first and second class from accepting ac-cepting other offices Also C B 67 to protect associations unions of workingmen and persons in their labels trade marks and forms of J advertising offering a substitute for the bill Also adversely C B 33 an act proViding pro-viding for the appointment of deputy county clerks Also adversely C B S3 lien by attorneys at 9 law The bill was presented by request re-quest of the Territorial Bar association associa-tion A committee composed of Walter Murphy N A Cherry and A T Schroeder asking for the consideration of the bill Seaman asked that the bill be read for information which was done He then objected to the consideration of the bill on the ground that a similar bill had been considered judiciary committee reported a substitute for C B 3 an act for the more animals effective prevention of cruelty to C B S7 to provide that guardians incompetent or insane persons shall not act as witnesses unless called upon by the adverse party was passed by a unanimous vote C B 49 to give mayors of cities of the first and second class a qualified veto was rejected C B 56 for an act to amend an act ac relating to poll tax exempting the residents resi-dents of cities of the first class was recommitted to the committee on municipal mu-nicipal corporations BY UNANIMOUS VOTE C B 76 for an act abolishing the office of collector in cities of the third class and providing that all the duties appertaining thereto be performed by the city treasurers Seaman asked Hague the author of the bil whether he had communicated with citizens who would be affected by the bill Hague answered that the feeling in favor of the abolition of the office was general Adams said he was heartily in favor of the bill He believed it would be In the interest of economy Seaman said he believed the proposed law was J a good one but he wanted to be satisfied satis-fied as to the wish of citizens of cities of
