Show f THE SCHOOL OF EXPRESSION Entertainment Given Ilj Mrs Boy 1 den nUll MLss Eldredgre Lust Sight Unity church hall was crowded to Its utmost seating and standing capacity last evening by those interested in the subject of elocution and physical culture in general and Mrs Boydena and Miss I Lldi edges school in particular The opening number was a piano solo Tarantella by Miss Ale Bishop which was a brilliant introduction to a most pleasing programme Master Bonda Hughes read in a spir ited way Bay Bllly Little Marjorie Mulvey read Peekaboo and Master Howard Stone entertained the audience with A Little Boys Soliloquy Mif3 Amy Smiths reading of The Changed Cross was effective as was Mis Addle Solomons rendition of Jane Conquest A Scene in Pantomime by Miss Powell Pow-ell Miss Blanche Thomas Marjory Mul vey and Baby Thomas was a series of Delsartean movements to piano music by Mrs Boyden accompanied by Mr Ames on the guitar The audience showed show-ed by hearty applause appreciation of the scene j Ethel Thomas recited Theres a Baby in the House and won the warm an plause she deserved lOne of the gems of the programme was the recitation The Wharf Rat by little Hazel Howes Miss Powell showed versatility by her appearance in the three widely different roles the last that of a woman afraid of burglars Miss Josie Morris was graceful and vivacious In the comic description Money Musk and won an encore to which she responded with an equally well rendered description of the ruse of a wily person The honors of the evening unquestionably unquestion-ably went to Miss Blanch Thomas The Blind Girl of Caste Cuille Longfellows mot pathetic poem was finely interpreted inter-preted by her and her facial expression was well night perfect Her talents are of a high order The pupils and their Instructors deserve high commendation and the public will be pleased to know that similar entertainments enter-tainments will be given once a month |
