Foccliir Hens I A correspondent in pountry Gentleman Gentle-man makes the following statement I have kept poultry ail iny lifoall kinds under almost every possible condition but have never had my hens lay as well as hey have all along through the fall and now I ha > e exneriniented with fowls to a large extent for the purpose of getting facts and have prpved my present sjstem of feeding and forcing ror eggs I chop together apples or the peelings 1 raw or boiled potatoes and an occasional l oniop after chopping quite fine I iiiix intimately about two teaspoonfuLs tea-spoonfuLs of Iid i pepper to ten hens and I fully the tamo an Qu t of salt I ponr boiling water only a little over the whole and Jhen mix ig coin meal until 0 quite still and moderately dry This 9 feed three times a week My pullets young and old hens lay better look be ter and aro better than J ever before them The combs are red asurcvindica ion of good thrift The plumage is brigbt and full This is tho result of the salt and jepper I feed afternoons ons barley and a little corn
