have heretofore here-tofore failed in their efforts to get a separate separ-ate county at last came together and have ormed a protective association tho put poses > of which aro herein set forthin the following articles of incorporation BErn CREEK MINERS PROTECTIVE ASSOCIATION Whereas the country hereinafter mentioned as the Deep Creek country is isolated and far removed from the courts of justice and the machinery ma-chinery of the law and Whereas serious disturbances are in future hreatenea concerning mining titles in said country Now the undersigned owners and claimants of mining claims in what is commonly known as and called the Deep Creek country in western Utah and eastern Nevada do hereby associate themselves together for the purfose and ob jects hereinafter named and on the terms agreements and conditions hereinafter set forth all of which are agreed and a sented to br them and by all who may hereaftei at any tIme become members of ttiis association by signing these articles or a copy thereoi viz OBJECtS 1The objects and purposes of this nssocia ion shall be to encourage and foster the min log industry and a bona llde and legitimate de elopement of mines and mining claims In said country and to defend and protect and assistln defending and protecting as hereinafter stated legitimate and bona llde mining rights in said country hereafter to becoms involved or Infringed to investigate and inquire into the true legal status of controversies hereafter arising between bona fide claim owners and other claimants of mining property in said country and ir necessary and practicable to ad just the diffeiences and arrest in the settlement hereof by compromise litigation or other tito Management This association shall be managed governed and controlled by an execu live committee to consist of a member from each mining district in said country said iom mittee to be elected annually by a majority of a boara of delegates which shall be composed of three members from each mining district dis-trict who shall be elected by the members of tho association having raining claims in tne mining district the meeting fnr I the election of saia delegates to be held on the first Monday of October on each and every year after the current year at the ofllce of the recorder re-corder of the mining district The first annual meeting of said delesates for the electon of said committen shall be held on the second Monday in November 1893 at 3 p mat m-at the postofilco at Ibapah fooelu county Utah and all future annual meetings of delegates dele-gates shall be held on the second Monday in each year thereafter at the same place 3Committee and officers THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE shall consist of one representatIve from each of the following districts Spring Creek Fish Springs Clifton Ferber John o Is Peak Willow Wil-low Springs and Eagle Four at large The officers shall be a president vicepresident secretary and treasuier The officers of the association shall be members of the executive committee DUTIES AND POWER OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ITbe executive committee hall nominate and appoint three members of the association in each mining district with authority and power to pass upon application for membership in the association Irom that district and their written approval of such application shall entitle the applicant to member mem-ber hip in the association upon hi signing and agreeing to these articles or a copy thereof 2it shall have power to call special meetings of the members of the asstciation at any time upon notice to the members sent by the secretary secre-tary to their last known postoflice address lilt li-lt may in any one month demand ana collect from each member of th assoc aiion an assessment assess-ment not to exceed i5 for the purpose of meeting meet-ing any expense within the scope and objects of the association which cannot be met or defrayed by the current revenues arising from dues IIt shall have power to make alter and repeal all bylaws it deems necessary for the government govern-ment of the affairs of the association and shall have power to call special meetings at any time upon notice sent by the secretary to the members mem-bers of the committee at their last known post office address and shall hold regular quartenv meetings on the lhtb l day of th months of June September December and March 5it shall have power to investigate examine Into any and all litigation and trouble which maj hereafter ensue between the members or between members and other persons and if upon such investiprat it was proper must assist the member whose property is involved in prosecuting or defending his rights SIX1t may remove any member o the association for cause upon notice and opportunity opportu-nity to be heard and may suspend or i amoco a member for failure to pay dues and assessments assess-ments SevenIt shall nil all vacancies in office and in the committee I Members No person is eligible to membership mem-bership in this association unless he owns in h s own name a mi Ing claim or int rest therein within said county Members may resign by filing with the secretary a written reMgnation ll 5 Dues Each member of the association shall pay to the treasurer thereof the sum of iH B month as regular monthly dues at the time and place prescribed by the executive committee Votintr Voting by proxy granted
