Show AMONG THE CROOKS I A Peeping Tom Sent Up for Sixty Days Flynn and Smith Convicted of Petit Larceny Arrested for Stealing More HoldsUp Thomas B Shannon yesterday went before Judge Gee and swore out a complaint charging Joseph Irving with feloniously canceling mortgaged mort-gaged personal property as follows That on November 1891 Irving executed to Studebaker Stude-baker Bros a chattel mortgage four horses to secure a note for 52SG40 and that on November No-vember 28 he concealed the horses without the written consent of the Studebaker Bros and while the mortgage upon them was in force Irving was arrested and pleaded not guilty Judge Gee set the case for tomorrow at 10 a m and fixed the defendants bonds at 6000 DRUNK Charles Irvine was assessed 110 for drunkenness drunken-ness and trespass TWO SHARPERS J F Flynn and Frank Smith two sharpers who on Monday fleeced Charles E Wilson out of his watch were tried in thc afternoon on the charge of petit larceny Both were found guilty and Smith who was tho leader in the scheme was sent up for sixty days while Flynn was sentenced to ten days imprisonment PEEPING TOM Pete McGovern who has annoyed a good many people lately by doing the Peep Ing Tom act was convicted of trespass and sent up for sixty days CHARGED WITH PETIT LARCENY Officer Carey last evening arrested Eph Kelley Kel-ley and James A Riordan on the charge of stealing half a dozen pairs of rubbers The men will bo tried in the police court today ox SUSPICION Yesterday afternoon officers Pool and Stanley Stan-ley arrested two men who had in their possession posses-sion a valise tilled with valuable furs and lace It is believed that the articles were stolen A HOLDUP Mr Silva a reporter who is sojourning here was held up and robbed near his room on Sec ona South on Tuesday night |
