Show A DISORGANIZED ORGAN There appear to be no favorable indications indica-tions of a change in tne cerebral condition of t our esteemed morning contemporary The fever does not abate the pulse runs high and there is that parched state of the skin that indicates a perturbed system As usual in such cases the patient has a bad taste in the mouth accompanied by restlessness lessness and dementia with predisposition to rave and say bad words It was indeed a pity to spoil the Tribunes little game to burn up all its fireworks to take away its tin horn and drum and to destroy its jackinthebox which it wasted to scare people with They even took away its falboface poor thing I But let us condole with the Tribune I That concerns only mission for a good I while past has been to hold the bag to catch I Democrats and keep them out of their own cotes It has hesitated to show itself in its true colors as an outandout Republican paper because of the fear of losing Demo cratio patronage which it holds by false pretenses It marches under a bogus banner It falsifies its own knowledge of the condition of patties bore their aims their policy their principles for the miserable miser-able and unworthy object of deception It slanders tho best Democrats in the land and then whilst inwardly cursing all Demo crats licks the hands of such as it supposes to be weak enough to be influenced by its selfish mis epresentation on local questions Its whole support whole life depends upon the maintenanca in popular belief of a structure which has no foundation and is built on thin air The Republican national executive committee com-mittee which is not generally believed to be composed of noodles is not deceived by the morbid stuff which the Tribune gives I out That paper may pull tho wool over the eyes of persona already blinded by prejudice prej-udice and bias and undertake in the midst of great national issues to air some potty spitefulness of a past period but it finds it aU carelessly ignored by the moguls of the Republican party and this makes it very sickOne One particular thing dreaded by our un ortunute neighoor is of course the effect produced upon those Demo crats who in territorial matters have acted with the Liberals The advic to the Republicans of Utah to settle their differences was a sufficient warning to Liberal Democrats to get out of that camp without the addendum which was an insult and reproach to every man who comes of Democratic stock We shall not soon forgot the burning indignity the sullying lying opprobrium cast upon the Democracy racy present and past by the official heads of the Republican party at their late meeting meet-ing in Washington The Republicans of Utah were exhorted to rescue the terri tory from the danger and dishonor of future Democratic control Xo Democrat cans can-s ffer this aspersion to go unro buked And we are glad that not only in the resolutions pertaining to Utah but in the body of the call for the nominating convention the Republican executive committee showed no desire for tho cooperation coop-eration of Democrats An invitation of that sort would have been transparent hy pocrisy which would have disgusted the Republicans without gaining a recruit |
