Show W C T U SESSION Police Justice Sraythe in the TollsA Fireman Hurt at Drill Ornnse Blossoms The Womens Christian Temperance union which convened In the Methodist Episcopal church night before last for the purpose of organizing or-ganizing a territorial association was in session all day yesterday and adjourned last evening The attendance was fair and the meeting quite successful The meeting was called to order at 9 oclock I nnd the devotional exercises were conducted by Mrs Reid of Salt Lake It then proceeded to permanent organization Mrs Dr Reid of Ofc tlen was selected chairman and Mrs A L Brunet of Mt Pleasant secretary The delegates present represented Ogden Salt Lake Mt Pleasant Sun Francisco andS and-S > attIc Washington The committee on credentials composed of the lolloning ladies Mrs Brunet Mrs Crocker Mrs Kyle and Mrs Riddle reported the following follow-ing delegates present f SeattleMrs M B Reese national organizer organi-zer San FranciscoMrs Mattie J Kyle of the Christian church Oden Mrs P L BraInard Mrs S M Day nrd Mrs E V Frank of the Presbyterian church Mrs F Foster of the United Presbyterian church Mrs Dr Reid and Mrs Skews Pre shaw of the Methodist Episcopal church Mrs Dr Bateman and Mrs E A Lutes of the Baptist church Mrs L M Bailey Mrs R P Hunter Miss G Hunter and Mrs A M Crocker of the Congregational Con-gregational church A committee on territorial organization and plan of work was app inted composed Mrs R P Hunter Mrs L M Bailey Mrs Par cienter Mrs Sarah Reid and Mrs M B Reese Mrs Reid of Salt Lake replied to the ad dres > 5 of welcome delivered by Mrs P L Brainard In the afternoon session Mrs M A Broeden read a very interesting paper on the legal status of women and Mrs Caroline Reid one on Forcein Nature The evening session was very interesting and largely attended The ladies having the temperance work in charge feel greatly encouraged over the results of the convention |
