| Show DEATH OF J K TKUJLBO News has been received of the death of John Kiethly Trumbo at Sharpsburg Ky on the 10th Uncle John was for many years a fa mihar figure in this city where his widow and several of his sons still reside his eldest son Colonel Isaac Trumbo living In San Francisco Indeed few men were better known on the Pacific Pa-cific slope than tho deceased who was a pio acer in tho fullest sense of the word He te wor crossed the plains first in 1SJ9 having been lured with the other thousands by the fabulous tales of gold Returning the next year to his Kentucky home he remained until 18o2 when neon ne-on co more came west this tie to stay casting his lot with the adventurous progressive people peo-ple who in a quarter of a century created an empire the like of which the world had never seen nor is it likely to see another We believe that Mr Trumbo bottled on Reese river Nevada where he marred the daughter of the late Colonel John Reese of this city for whom the river was naired After a few j ear he came to Salt Lake and later rrsidcd Connne in both of which places he was engaged In active businesS and actve in each there arc left many personal friends Losing his health and growing feeble two or three years ago lie returned to the land of his birth and the home of his youth in the Blue Glass state where the closing days of his eventful life were passed among relatives and friends Those who remember him will DC glad to know tint kindly hands ministered to his wants during his final years and greatly smoothed hu pith to the great beyond Deceased De-ceased was sixtj eight years of age |
