Ax OTTAWA telegram gives an account of a somewhat exciting time in the Dominion parliament on Thursday evening over tho Mormons It would seem that there are cranks in the Canada legislature as wall as in the lawmaking assemblies on this side of the border Some reckless and manifestly mani-festly false assertions wore made and the law was amended by raising the penalty for polygamy from two to five years imprisonment im-prisonment As tho Mormons who have gone into the Northwest territory do not practice polygamy and as they give an assurance as-surance that they will not practice it the degree of punishment Imposed for the offense will concern them very little The I honest man cares not at all how severe the penalty may be for larceny for he does not steal Wo do not apprehend that tho Mormons Mor-mons in the Dominion will have any trouble with the government
