The Louisiana Rifles Tho benefit drill of the Louisiana Rifles on the Eighth ward square last night was well attended The royal family occupied front seats and were accompanied by many of the leading people of Salt Lake The evolutions of the Rifles while being of aliigh order were not what was expected I ex-pected There is a lack of discipline and a great deal too much independence in tho movements of the individual soldier All tho members of the company are scions of welltodo houses and many of the privates are the social equals of the officers Hence there is a general slouchiness The Flambeau Flam-beau clubs work Is superior with the exception ception that the Rifles have a more thorough knowledge tactics In wheeling the southern boys are fair but the unit movements lack something The on right into line was very creditably executed as was the various transitions from fours to company but the other movements were ediocre
