Show DllllnghamJ Found Guilty F A Dillingham at one time considered one of the foremost business men of Ogden was found guilty yesterday of embezzle uent while assign of the hardware stock once owned by C D Hayes of this city The case was on trial in the district court about a day and a half being hotly contested by both sides and the jury brought in a verdict at 11 oclock yesterday morning after being out eighteen hours When the news was heralded to the ears of the defendant he and his wife who had been constantly at his side during the progress pro-gress of the trial Rave vent to their feelings feel-ings and their sobs were heartrending In the afternoon Dillingham made a strong effort to secure bail and be released until the time of his sentence which Is set for Saturday but without avail and last evening even-ing he was escorted to the penitentiary The law provides that where guilt Is established es-tablished against persons charged with such offenses they shall be punished by imprisonment irom six months to five years |
