other parties regarding 100000 appropriation for Utahs exhibit at the Worlds fair Laid on the table pending the appointment appoint-ment of a Worlds fair committee PRINTER LAJIBERT The committee on public printing reported re-ported that it had only considered the subject sub-ject of soliciting bids for printing and found that George C Lambert was the lowest responsible bidder and therefore recommended that he be elected to the ofiice of public printer Adopted RULES ADOPTED The committee on rules reported that it had examined the rules of the twenty ninth session of the legislative assembly and recommended that they bo adopted with amendments herewith proposed IThat rule 28 be amended by adding a committee on the Worlds fair consisting I of five members Adopted 2By adding a and Pierce PETITION FOR WORLDS FAIR APPROPRIATION A petition was presented from the chamber 1 cham-ber of commerce signed by several thousands thous-ands of citizens of the territory asking that an appropriation be made for Utah at the Worlds Columbian fair Referred to committee on Worlds fair A VISIT TO LOGAN A communication announced that the council had accepted the invitation to visit the agricultural college at Logan Mr Sargent moved that the House accept ac-cept this invitation with thanks and defer the appointment of a day to visit tne luaU t C tution Mr Pierco offered an amendment to strike out all after the word thanks Amendment adopted Mr Snow moved the appointment of a committee of two to confer with like committee com-mittee from the Council on a timo for the House to visit the day A MESSENGER FOR THE SECRETARY A communication from tho Council reported re-ported that that body had passed C J R No 2 a Dill authorizing the appointment of a messenger for the secretarys often at u i I salary not exceeding i a day On motion of Mr Kimball the rules were suspended and the question was put to the vote and carried unanimously The bill was read a second time and on motion stating that that body had passed C C R No4 a bill relating to board of loan commissioners On motion of Mr Snow the House concurred con-curred in the resolution of the Council to grant the board of loan commissioners ten days additional time to make its report A communication from tho Council stat ing that C F No 11 has been passed by that body On motion of Mr Pierce it was read and referred to the committee on contingent expenses SCHOOL REPORT The financial report of the commissioner of schools was received and referred to the committee on education PUBLIC PRINTER The joint committee on
