Show I g STAT AT HOME IIh io j p II Every season the number of our j 11t 11 I citizens who pass the heated term at i ji the retreats near home instead of going I f off and wearing themselves out in vain 1 l efforts to rest Increases In this our I people are wise Nowhere on the r j continent are there more attractive or II j more healthful retreats from the summer f sum-mer sun and winds than those which r are so numerous at our very doors That we do not more warmly appreciate I i I these glorious gUts of nature is because Ij j they are so common and cost nothing 1 a If our mountain gorges with their snaay nooks cool breezes and life t giving streams were five hundred instead in-stead of five mile distant we would J flock to them and fairly luxeriate in + their splendors and pleasures and would I r I t return refreshed and invigorated but greatly depleted in i purse It is perhaps per-haps human nature to desire and strive for the difficult to obtain Bat as remarked our citizens are fast i learning that it is not necessary to go to California to escape the heat and find I f healthgiving breezes and restful jp pose they are learning that at our very I doors are the most neaithful and luxurious luxu-rious natural resorts to be found on the continent they are also learning that h it is not essential to pleasure to r spend l large sums of money As a result of I I r thisknowled ethe summer campers are j increasing and the canyons and little I t I Talleys hereabouts are becoming J it more popular Already preparations r prepara-tions are being made for fam i ilies retiring for the season to the shady glens and by the time the t summer is well with us in all its depression de-pression of heat and dust the canyons 11 I I and neighboring valleys will be alive with q t bealth and resthunters It is to be regretted f 4 1 d that gretted some enterprising persons j 4 t Jj 1 do not erect summer hotels in City j jt r t Creek Red finite the Cottonwoods on rl l the East Weber or at other places where r r 31 people who cannot go to the expense of I a camping outfit could go to enjoy the c pure air and obtain the advantages of a j j ik I t I j I f I t i II I I a I 1 I t Y brief sojourn away from the hum and heat aid dust of the city But these will come along in good time they will come faster as some of our people abandon the insane idea that they must go away to enjoy themselves and be refreshed re-freshed |
