Show SICK WILHELM He is Seriously ill and Causing Concern I IHEKEICHSFAG SESSION OVER The Thistle Wins Another Race The World Balloon Mr Thur bers Woes Other Notes A Very Sick Emperor BERLIN June l8The Reichstag haying hay-ing today disposed of all the business remfcining Herr Von Gotticher read the Imperial message closing the ses ion The message f xpressed the grateful grate-ful appreciation with which the Emperor Em-peror regarded the labors and decisions of the Reichstag which by the defense of the empire and its financial position acquired that strength and solidity which were primary conditions of peace as they were also of the empires em-pires general development The message mes-sage concluded bs follows You have by your diligence and faithful labors justified the confidence with which the country sent you here in order to promote pro-mote and assure its welfare and peace When the reading of the imperial message was concluded the members separated with three cheers for the Emperor The last weeks work in the Reichstag was notable not-able for the celerity and dispatch with which the business was dispo ed of the members showing a decided desire to conclude their labors and disperse for the holidays THE EMPERORS ILLNESS The lieichjanzeiger says the progress of the Emperor toward recovery as was expected under the circumstances is slow but noticeable His Majesty I has latterly been able to leave his bed by day for several hours and has frequently received reports re-ports of the state of matters nevertheless neverthe-less he will require great care and rest in the future The language of this announcement though guarded suggests sug-gests that the time has come when the Emperor must pass away forever from active public duties Since his present illness set in thousands of persons have daily been in waiting before the palace in the hope that His Majesty miht appear ap-pear at the window to receive their homage hom-age but he has not once been able to do so He is lifted from his bed to a chair and in going thence to hear reports re-ports is supported into the cabinet The official papers still talk of his going Ito I-to Gastein in August but all idea of his presence at the West Prussian ma noeuvers has been abandoned His physicians phy-sicians forbid another indiscretion like his Kiel journey and order that the Emperor henceforward undertake no duty that will involve any strain upon him or chance of exposure |
