last night and the views of several prominent men were given some of whom declared that hotel accmodations were much more needed than an opera house while others averred that the building of an opera house would more quickly induce hotel building The result of tho meeting was the appointment of commit e of ten men to canvass the city within the next few days and to report one < eck from date sjft was stated that two propositions had alreadj been offered to build a hotel of O or more rooms provided the necessary land should be donated A H Swan stated that he had guaranteed the land A meeting of the chamber of commerce was held after the Opera house meeting had been concluded and the subject of hotel accommodations ac-commodations was broached The fact that on April IS an excursion of some 300 people from Denver would come to Ogden and that J H Bennett general passenger and freight agent of the Den roe Rio Grande Western had inquired a he ability of the people of Of den to pro f ae
