Show THE THEATRE SOLD New Parties Acquire the Controlling Controll-ing Interest On Tuesday last a negotiation which has been in progress for some time past and which will be ot more than casual interest to the public was consummated among some of Salt Lakes principal business men The negotiation in question ques-tion is the sale of the controlling interest inter-est in the Salt Lake Theatre formerly held by John Taylor Trustee iaTrust There were 1500 shares in the company and the capital stock was 75000 The great majority of the stock somewhere about four fifths had been held by the Trusteein Trust until Tuesday when it was sold to the other stockholders with one or two other gentlemen added The owners own-ers now are John Sharp Feramorz Little H B Clawson James Jack John T Caine LeGrande Young and the estates es-tates of William Jennings and Captain Hooper The control is held by Messrs Sharp and Little who will probably be president and vicepresident of the company All the others have but a small interest Mr LeGrande Young who made the sale declined to give any figures though he said the purchase was absolute and bona fide It is pretty certain however how-ever that the purchasers secured an extremely good bargain as it is known that two other parties at least had been negotiating and making offers on a basis of 25000 and the amount paid I for the control was not very tar beyond that As a result of the change the management man-agement of the house will probaHy fall to H B Clawson and Mr David Mc Kenzic who has had active Charge of the business interests hitherto will retire re-tire |
