Show IT is a formidable split which has occurred oc-curred in the Knights of Labor as announced an-nounced in THE HEBALDS telegraphic columns It will take from the order a large number of its members and greatly reduce the numerical strength of the organization but we are inclined in-clined to believe that the withdrawal will prove advantageous to the Knights Those who propose to leave the old society and form a new one are not desirable men to hold They are agitators agita-tors and malcontents and are tainted more or less with Anarchistic or at least Socialistic ideas They undertook at the recent general convention to con mit the Knights to ultra doctrines and to the assertion of principles antagonistic antagon-istic to the peace and good order of the country Their failure is the cause of the present movement The sooner the Knights of Labor are free from such characters the better will it be for the order We may expect the new faction will soon join hands with the Socialists and exercise its faculty for making I trouble |
