Show The Knights in Convention RICHMOND October 18 When the general l assembly of the Knights of LaD > rtwent into session this morning no one could answer the question positively posi-tively whether it would take a final adjournment ad-journment today or prolong itself until tomorrow The reference of the greater portion of the proposed revision of the constitution to the executive boardand a committee ot four with a final reference to the local assem lies has saved much time and there now remains to be disposed of the reports of only half a dozen special committees the committees on finances and appeals and grievances The committee on appeals and grievances griev-ances obtained the floor when the gen era assembly went into session and still held it when the noon receos was taken Their report relates to matters of general discipline that are of little interest to other than members of the order The Knights of Labor at the afternoon after-noon session of the General Assembly continued consideration of the report of committee of appeals and grievances griev-ances and adoped a resolution deciding decid-ing that members of the international Cigar Makers Union must elect whether they remain members of the Union or of the order of the Knights of Labor but they dannot remain members mem-bers ot both The report of the committee on finance was presented pre-sented and adopted It provides that the salary ot the grard master workman shall henceforth be 5UOO a year and hose of the general secretary and general tredsurr and secretary 2000 and that the members of the executive1 board and general worthy foreman shall receive 4 per day and I expenses while on duty The resolution resolu-tion was adopted providing when the assembly meets tomorrow i to shall re mniu in session till its business is con eluded |
