figures Please call and examine before purchasing elsewhere SIJIOK BROS j222 First South street I AN interesting little story comes all the way from Pittsburg of the luck of a Philadelphia drummer He was riding from Harrisburg to that city and met by chance on the train a couple of fascinating strangers who gave their names as George Peck of New York and Colonel Stone of Chicago To while away the tedious hours the two strangers proposed a game of poker When the drummers deal came round he dealt himself four kings which made him feel sorry for his opponents Mr Peck passed out leaving the man with the military mili-tary title to bo scooped by the drummers four kings apparently The colonel drew two cards however and became confident He raised the pot from 850 to 250 which the drummer had to cover with his gold watch and chain and a diamond ring He then produced his four kings and reachedfor the pile The colonel gracefully waved him to one side and displayed four aces Then the drummer arose in his wrath and declared the cards had been stocked He carried his complaint to the mayor of Pitte burg whe placed the parties under arrest and held them in 1000 bail for appearance at court In the meantime the drummer couldnt be I induced to bet his whole pile on four kings again I i TYEDEING CABDS Envelopes and Note Papers t at the BETIALD Offiee E r THE John Wa Lowell WAGON Co Successors
