Show As fishing season hovers just around the corner, it is time to remind anglers the law requires some evidence of species be left on their catch. FISH WHICH are cleaned for transporting to home or 1 camp must be in such a condition as to allow Identification Identifica-tion of both species and numbers of fish involved. This . can be accomplished by leaving a one-inch square patch . of skin attached to each fillet c skinned fish. Division of Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement Chief, John Nagel, pointed out citations will be issued for failure to leave proper evidence of species. "DURING THE last several summers, we have issued warning tickets to many fishermen who have failed to leave proper evidence of species on their fish. This year, however, anglers can expect to receive citations if they ' fail to meet the requirements," said Nagel. The problem is closely associated with Lake Powell, where the size of the area, the high success ratio and the type of fish that lend themselves to filleting are prominent. FISHERMEN can expect to be checked by conservation conserva-tion officers at road blocks, at cleaning stations or on the lake. |
