Show By SUE TRENCH With the distribution of report cards this week, students are breathing a sigh of relief and letting go of the past and settling into a second term. AN HONORS breakfast will be held Monday morning at 7 in the cafeteria for those students who have earned a place on the honor role. Looks like the hard work of these students has paid off. Despite previous lack of recognition for the Girl's Cross Country team and many . other hurdles, they ran ahead of their competitors to capture cap-ture the rank of second place in state for Viewmont High School last week. Hard work, self discipline and personal sacrifice are the elements that team up to create the Viking group. PAULA JOHNSON, Kathy Lawson, Micki Rock, Joylynn Williams, Beth Ensign, Mary Ellen Furner, Paula Nielson, Teria Baird, JoAnn Hayes, Melodee Squire and Julie Spencer make up the team. Viewmont High School was honored by the presence of a Utah dignitary on Oct. 8, as Governor Matheson paid us a visit. He came to speak to the Bountiful Rotary Club in the cafeteria. At this time he was also presented with a "Vikings are Victorious" T-shirt T-shirt as a Viewmont remembrance. THE DATE for the His 'N Hers Dance is fast approaching. Ticket sales, continue during both lunches for the Nov. 17 dance. They're back! That's right ...Old Release will again take VHS by storm. Tuesday, Nov. 21, is the night the group (all VHS students) will play at a school stomp. This promises to be a super event so please come out and support them. ALSO THAT day, an assembly as-sembly has been scheduled featuring Vandermede the hypnotist. Hope you enjoy it as well as the holiday. Enjoy the vacation and have a happy Thanksgiving. |
