Show Porter Rites i , ' l A FRANK PORTER Funeral services were held for Franklin Barnard Porter, 93, of 4292 Orchard Dr., who died Jan. 20, 1978 in a Bountiful Boun-tiful hospital of natural causes. MR. PORTER was born Feb. 8, 1884 in Alford Forest, New Zealand to Arthur and Louise Marie Koebbel Porter. He married Grace Williams Aug. 30, 1911 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a retired printer. Member of the LDS Church. HE LIVED IN Willard from infancy until five years of age. Moved to Logan and lived there until the age of 21 working for six years on the "Logan Journal." Moved to Rexburg, Ida. to operate the "Rexburg Journal." Moved to St. Anthony, Ida. in 1910 to work on a newspaper. Taught at Idaho State Industrial School from 1911-1917. Owned and operated the "Downey ldahoan from 1917 to 1939. Later moved to Utah where he owned and operated the Porter Printing Co. He graduated from the BYC at Logan, Utah. Member of the Orchard First Ward and High Priest. Served as member of Portneuf Stake YMMIA Board. SURVIVORS include: wife. North Salt Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Alese) Rudd, St. Anthony, Ida.; Mrs. Avard W. (Carol Gwen) Booth, Salt Lake City; a brother, Clement, Salt Lake City; four sisters, Mrs. Emily P. Heath, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Elizabeth P. Whittle and Mrs. Rebecca P. Chappie, both of Rexburg, Ida.; and Mrs. Elinor P. Houle, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary Mor-tuary Chapel, with Bishop E. Stanford Le Cheminant, Orchard First Ward, officiating. officiat-ing. SERVICES WERE: family prayer, Leland C. Winter; prelude and postlude music, Charlotte Taggart; musical selection, "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions," Charlotte Taggart, accompanist, accom-panist, by Bill Petersen; invocation, in-vocation, Avard W. Booth. BISHOP'S remarks, Bishop Stanford Le Cheminant; obituary, obi-tuary, Chad Booth; speakers. Bishop Orrin Tippetts, Lowe Rudd; organ medley, Lynn Anderson; benediction, Joel A. Wilson. Interment in Parker, Ida. city cemetery. PALLBEARERS were John Rudd, Roger Morris, Warren Porter, Lee Edlefsen, Chad Booth, and Robert Chappie. Care of the flowers was by the Orchard First Ward Relief Society, granddaughters grand-daughters and nieces. Additional funeral services were held in Parker, Idaho. |
