Show Deaths at El Paso. KL PASO, . Texas, Oct. 17. Twenty-four Twenty-four deaths occurred today from influenza influ-enza among the Mexican population of Kl Paso and nine among the Americans. All Mexican cases are being concentrated in a large Mexican school by the Red Cross in an effort to check the epidemic. The disease has practically run its course at Fort Bliss, medical officers stated tonight. Lieutenant Emil B. Goldstein of the quartermaster corps, who was formerly a merchant of New Orleans, and Mrs. J. M. Romagny, wife of the French vice consul, con-sul, were among those whose deaths were reported today. Fifty deaths from influenza have occurred oc-curred in Juarez since the epidemic started there. |
