Ever since the first oi the year it has I been said that owners of property were ! holding it for higher prices and that on the contrary manv buyers were waiting ! for an expected fall in values. In the southeastern part of tho city also a number of new houses havjj been built and plans for others are under way. New Warehouses. Among tho Trades. The hardware trade has been excellent, excel-lent, at least, up to that of the same time last year. Except for the falling off in demand for mining machinery, the trade would be far in excess of what it has ever been. Automobile supplies of all kinds arc sold in great quantities, fnddlcry and harness arc in good demand. The call for all kinds of tools and paints indicates that the people who arc not doing ven much at.rhe present: time are determined to paint the back porch and perhaps put. a new floor in the woodshed against, the activity, of the coming summer.
