Show Unique Wedding Is Held AHEnterprise By Mrs. Theresa Huntsman A unique wedding party and shower combination was put over ' by Mr. and Mrs. William Lund I at their home Saturday night in honor of Miss Nellie Hill. Invitations In-vitations were issued to about sixty-five people to attend a shower. show-er. Preparations to entertain outside out-side were made. A splendid program pro-gram was carried out and a good time enjoyed. A mock wedding with Lewis Hill as the bride, Marion Miller, as the groom, Bill Hill and Halbert Lund as maids of honor and Tom Lund, of Mo-dena, Mo-dena, as Clergyman was put over tb the amusement of everyone present. Near 12 o'clock the guests were invited into the house where they were told a surprise awaited them. They found the house beautifully decorated in dahlias, sweet peas, gladiolias and other beautiful flowers. Near a beautiful bunch of golden glow, taller than she, stood the prospective pros-pective bride, Nellie Hill and by her side the groom, Orval Hart-man. Hart-man. The mothers of both and Miss Hill's father were seated at the left. Bishop Joseph A. Terry stood near. It was then announced announc-ed that the couple were going to be married. Bishop Terry then pronounced the ceremony which made Nellie Hill and Orval Hart-man Hart-man man and wife. It was all beautifully planned and carried out to the complete surprise of all the guests. The bride and groom were then taken out to the car and their many friends showed them a lively time for a few hours. Auto horns and other noises announced an-nounced to the towns people that something unusual was taking place. When the bride opened the presents she found many beautiful beau-tiful and useful presents. One large box looked a bit suspicious so that was left until the last. When opened she found a note bearing the initials of her girl friends. When opened it proved to be a joke put over by some of the men. It contained just old worn Out cooking utensils that they had gathered out of trash piles. It was all in keeping with the occasion, a good time for all and surely everyone present pre-sent pronounced the affair a grand success. Mr. and Mrs. Hartman will make their home at Gold Springs for the present. |
