Show Mrs. Charles Y. Madsen Dies Here Early Wednesday, May 1 6!h Death came at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 16, to Mrs. Ethel May Fowler Madsen, 52, wife of Charles V. Madsen, at the hospital hospi-tal in St. George of complications after an extended illness. Born at Garrison, Utah. Dec. 5, 1893, she was a daughter of William Franklin and Laura Robinson Rob-inson Fowler. The family later moved to Ely, Nevada where she married Charles V. Madsen in 1916. They came to St. George in 1928 to make their home. In poor health for many years, Mrs. Madsen underwent surgery several months ago. She was taken seriously ill last week, but failed to respond to treatment. Surviving besides Tier husband are two sons, Delbert Murray Madsen Flc with the U. S.' Navy in the South Pacific; LaVon Madsen of St. George; three daughters, Mrs. Velma Brearton, who was recently released from the WAC; Delia Madsen, employed employ-ed at Cedar City, and Laura May Madsen of St. George; three grandchildren; grand-children; one brother, Elmer Fowler Fow-ler of Magna; three sisters, Mrs. Claud Mecham and Mrs. Milo Blake of St. George and Mrs. Rogers Hardy of Las Vegas. Funeral services for Mrs. Madsen Mad-sen are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 4 p. m. in the St. George stake tabernacle, with the West ward bishopric conducting. |
