"It affects the whole institution...I'm hoping that students are just procrastinating." Procrastination may not be the driving force in the drop in enrollment as numbers have been down through the first week of school, and with the that is distinctively studentcentered, it is also a tremendous bargain. It is very affirming to see that other institutions recognize the excellence that exists here." UVSCs ranking is at the top for students with the least amount of debt, for tour-year comprehensive colleges in the West. Have you ever been Experienced? From EXPERIENCE-Al provided a question/answer portion of the orientation for students to investigate more information on their chosen majors. Mr. UVSC, Benjamin King, added to the activities with Napoleon Dynamite dance, creating laughs among the new student body. Most of the students at UVSC agree that seeing new faces is one of the rewarding experiences during UV Experience. "I'm excited to see all the new faces and everyone's excitement to finally be in college," said Jared Sumsion, Student Body President. The UV Experience included a tour of UVSC for all students who were unfamiliar with the school. The tour guides helped to point out important buildings, as well as any club offices and activity centers. Each new student was eager to adventure the campus to help eliminate any chance of confusion when classes began. "I got my exercise today when I got lost and then had to walk all the way back," said new student Kaitlin Sherwood. Faculty was assisting all around campus to answer any questions or concerns from both students and parents attending the event. Eerin Donnahoe-Rankin, the Administration Assistant to the Communications Department, said, "The great thing about UV Experience is that you have an opportunity to ask people questions that you feel haven't been answered yet." According to the president of UVSC, Bill Sederburg, being socially active is just one necessity to succeeding at school, as well as taking school seriously and attending all of your classes. "Those who don't succeed at school are those who don't try to connect socially." Sederburg's most important piece of advice that was given to the student body was to remember he wants to help. "Just like the slogan around the school says, we are here to help you if you let us." President Sederburg urged all students to say hello to him when they see him in the halls, and to e-mail him with any questions or concerns he can help with. According to Sederburg, not one e-mail goes unread or unanswered. TUITION GOT YOU WORRIED? LET CONVERGYS HELP!
