Show JAMES E. WEST The annual Regional conference at the Hotel Utah which was held Monday, April 7, 19-11 was honored by the presence of Dr James E. West, Chief Scout executive. ex-ecutive. "Speed the opportunities for Scouting," was the theme of the meet. James E. West complimented the L. D. S. church for their "far sighted" help in bringing about a n effective scout movement. Mormonism was the first religion to foster scout activities as a whole. I The chief declared that the greatest need today is to obey the scout law, Reverent; and the time is ripe for us to emphasize religious tolerance. We must be physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight as typefied in the Boy Scout Oath, Make sure we are strong in our faith. Do everything every-thing we can to perserve our Democracy. De-mocracy. Region XII is always a scource of comfort and high rating when reports are received by the New York office. Last year region XII led in 8 out of 15 points upon which the regions are rated. There are 82,454 scouts; 22,701 cubs; and 31.833 scout and cub masters. We also have the largest larg-est ratio men leaders as a result we have the lagest scout ratio enrollment. en-rollment. These are a few of the high points of the regional report re-port made by Raymond O.
