Thomas Carroll 5H5 STAFF WRITER Chock full of excitement, ' dancing, and of course, the obligatory pie-throwing extravaganza! This year the FFA put on one toozie of an assembly for Sweetheart Sweet-heart Week. Kicking off the assembly brought in lots and lots of was the obstacle course money (the money earned race featuring the lovely sweetheart ladies. The candidates choose a partner part-ner from the stands and competed in a race comprised com-prised of egg throwing, three-legged racing, and as I have already mentioned, pie-throwing. After the race, we enjoyed en-joyed a boot scootin' boogie boo-gie contejst, which involved members of our student body dancing their hearts out until one of them was crowned champion. Senior Peter Taylor came out victorious vic-torious and delighted all goes to support Sub4-San-ta). Bids up in the five and six hundred dollar range were abundant as the gracious gra-cious student body scraped their extra change together. togeth-er. Finally, the sweetheart royalty was announced. The 2nd attendant was Mikki Helmer, 1st attendant atten-dant was Kate Anderson, and the winner was Angela Kronenberger. Congratulations Congratula-tions are in order for these young ladies, and kudos to the FFA for a phenomenal Tne FFA Sweetheart contestants had the chance last Tuesday to milk cows as part of the competition. D'males practicing their precision drill how to do things like head stands, kicks, turns and a. lot more. With all the hard work, comes the occasional occasion-al minor injury; one guy may accidentally kick another an-other guy, or one guy may roll over another guy when falling out of head stands. Every year the D'males have put on an amazing performance, and this year will be no different! Come see for yourself how good the guys are on Friday the 16 at the last SHS basketball game of the season.' Chelcie Richins SHS STAFF WRITER The D'males have been a tradition at SHS for some time. This year, the participating par-ticipating senior boys are really stepping up to show their talent! So what exactly are the D'males? The SHS senior drill team members make up a dance and teach it to all the senior boys who want to experience what drill team is really like. The senior boys have to get to the high school at 6 a.m. every A day of school to practice. The majority of the boys have been very dedicated. It's so awesome how hard they really work," Micarie, a senior on drill, said. When the senior guys get tired or frustrated, there is always a D'male who will step up and get the others back on track. "Guys, come on, get to the beginning of military!" Koy Jasperson yelled at practice on Monday to get the guys back on track. "Man, we are good!"
