Show Miss Oakley, Mr. Boyer Wed W ednesday in Los Angeles HIRAM WATERS FETED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY Hiram Waters was guest of honor at a birthday dinner Sunday on the occasion of his seventy-second birthday anniversary. Mrs. Waters prepared dinner for forty-one guests during the afternoon and evening. A large beautifully decorated birthday cake was the central decorative dec-orative piece on the long table and many smaller birthday cakes as well as many gifts were presented present-ed to the guest of honor. Mr. Waters' two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Madsen of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Mercy Peay of Provo, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Matilda Waters, were among those attending. attend-ing. FIRESIDE CHAT HELD IX SECOND WARD M Men and Gleaner Girls of the Second ward were entertained at the regular monthly Fireside chat Sunday evening after Sacrament meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Eddington. Mrs. Maurice Anderson gave a very interesting review of the book "The Family," by Fedorovea. Other program numbers included a piano duet by Norma Leichty and Geraldine York. Carol Leichty, M Men president, was in charge. Hosts and hostesses for the evening eve-ning were Paul Hjorth, Louis Johnson, Shirley Reynolds, and LaRue Mower. Refreshments were served in conclusion to approximately thirty. Mr. and Mrs. Delos Oakley wish to announce the marriage of their daughter, Edna, to Francis Boyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boyer, which took place at the L. D. S. Mission headquarters Wednesday, November 27, in Los Angeles. Both are graduates of the Springville high school and since that time the bride worked several sev-eral years in Salt Lake City and for the past two years she has been employed at the Wm. Parry Home Realty office. She is also a member of the Paranada club. Mr. Boyer attended a special radio school in Kansas City, where he also obtained a government license, li-cense, and he filled a mission in the Northern states. He is now employed at the Douglas Airplane factory in the radio division at Los Angeles. The young couple will make their home in Hollywood. LA JOLIE CLUB ENTERTAINED Mrs. Evelyn Boyer was hostess to members of La Jolie club at her home Thursday evening. After a delicious hot plate lunch was served, the group played play-ed 500, with prizes going to Mrs. Ruth Miller and Mrs. Ina Pitcher. Present were Mrs. Harriet Miner, Min-er, Mrs. Billie Burt, Mrs. Madge Crandall, Mrs. Ruth Miller, Mrs. Ina Pitcher, Mrs. Laura Wilding, Mrs. Lucille Smith, Mrs. Helen Spafford, and Miss Virginia Rivers. |
