BJARNSON Popular Young Couple Exchange Wedding ows A lovely wedding of the late summer season was that of Miss JoAnn Stewart and Glen H. Bjarnson, which took place on Monday evening, August 9, in the Second ward chapel, with Bishop J. Y. Bearn- son of the Fifth ward performing the ceremony. The bride is a daughter i of Dean Stewart of Springville I and Mrs. Ann Stewart of Salt Lake City. Mr. Bjarnson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bjarnson Bjarn-son of Springville. The wedding took place in a setting made beautiful with a profusion of late summer flowers in colors of orchid and yellow highlighted with tall burning tapers. The bride was charmingly attired at-tired in a wedding dress of silk lace over satin with long .pointed .point-ed sleeves. A design of seed pearls decorated the yoke around which was also a lace ruffle. Her three-tiered three-tiered silk net veil was arranged to her head with a crown of orange blossoms. She carried a white satin Bible with two white orchids. . Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Robert Burt of Ogden. Lorraine Mendenhall, Bonnie Baxter, Joan Blackett, Marlene Stewart and Joyce Bjarnson were bridesmaids. They were attired in yellow and orchid formals and carried pretty nosegays in colors to correspond. Leon Bjarnson was best man for his brother. Others in the receiving line were parents of the bride and groom, also little Juanita Stewart as a flower girl and Phillip Peay was ring bearer. A delightful program featured the reception with Bishop Leo Crandall of the Eighth ward, acting ac-ting as master of ceremonies. During the evening, Gordon Childs entertained with violin numbers, accompanied by Douglas Childs; Pauline Boyer, piano selections; Dean Fullmer, guitar selections; Valetta Fullmer, vocal solos; Peggy Crandall, readings and Carol Clark of Provo, readings Floyd Anderson toasted the bridegroom bride-groom and Mrs. Jessie Dalton, the oride. The remainder of the evening following the program, was spent dancing and refreshments were served from a table centered with a georgeously decorated 1 wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and groom and flanked on either side by tall tapers entwined with satin ribbon. In charge of the gift room were Mrs. Sarabell Stewart of Spanish Fork assisted by Dorothy Stewart and LaRae Stewart, Jean Stewart and Maxine Packard. Shortly after the reception the couple left on a few days honeymoon honey-moon to Yellowstone National Park and Teton National Park. In the near future, they plan to go to Los Angeles, Calif., where they expect to make their home for the coming two years while Mr. Bjarnson completes a course in commercial art at Woodbury College. |
