Boyer, nee, Georgia Selman Newlyweds Mr. & Mrs. Blaine Boyer Honored Af Reception Monday Night ' L Miss Georgia Selman, sister of Mrs. Bette Selman Cannon of Payson and Blaine M. Boyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan W. Boyer of this city were united in marriage Monday evening, June 1, in a candlelight ceremony, performed perform-ed by Bishop Lewis B. Childs in the First Ward church. Immediate relatives rel-atives and close friends were in attendance. The bride was given in marriage by a brother-in-law, George James. Dave Boyer gave a vocal solo and Mrs. Maurice Bird played background music. After their marriage the newlyweds new-lyweds were honored at a reception recep-tion in. the amusement hall. The bride was charming in a floor-length floor-length gown of white brocaded taf-fetta taf-fetta and satin with scalloped neckline and long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil was arranged to a crown of seed pearls and she held a bouquet of pink rose buds surrounding sur-rounding an orchid. Attending as matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Dorothy Dor-othy Spainhower. Two other sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Mary Lee Boswell and Mrs. Patsy Bird were bridesmaids as were Karen Boyer, sister to the groom, and Miss Helen Mattin-son, Mattin-son, Miss Beverly Pierce and Miss Marion Spencer. Their gowns were in pink shades and each carried a nose-gay of rose buds centered with a gardenia. Wallace Bird was best man. Greeting guests at the door i were Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Bjarn-j Bjarn-j son and Mr. and Mrs. George James. 1 : George Bird was master of cer-, cer-, empnies during a program which opened with prayer by the groom's : grandfather, Myron A. Boyer. Patty Selman of Payson entertained entertain-ed with a vocal solo; the Shepherd children gave a song and dance number; Mrs. Nellie Bybee and Mrs. Mary Bradford, vocal duet. Joan Smith of Payson gave a toast to the bride, assisted by other girl friends who sang "That Old Gang of Mine" and hummed the tune to the toast. Bishop Childs gave a toast to the groom. George James gave a vocal solo; M1-3. Peck and company of Payson, acocrdian music; mu-sic; Roland Jones of Spanish Fork, a reading. A recording of the wedding wed-ding was made and also of the entire reception program. Refreshments were served guests in the Relief Society room in the center of which was displayed a beautiful wedding cake decorated with tiny wedding bells. In charge of serving was Mrs. Thelma Carter, aunt of the groom who was assisted by Mrs. Flossie Sanford, Mrs. Mabel Brown, Mrs. Alta Taylor, Mrs. Helen Bird, Mrs. Vera Stokes,, Mrs. Utahna Felix, and Mrs. Addie Underwood. Serving Serv-ing were Geniel Felix, Donna Jane Carter, Lucy B. Jensen, Joyce Hatfield, Hat-field, Colleen Mason and Carma Holt. Arranging the gifts in the gift room were Mrs. Olive Miller, Mrs. Florence Christensen of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Donna Christensen and Clara Boyer. Ushers were Leland Oakley, David Boyer and Sterling Mason. The couple left after the reception recep-tion on a few days honeymoon and upon their return will make their home in Springville. |
