Show Couple Making Home In California Following Temple Marriage, Oct. 12 A lovely bride was Mary Lou Whiting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Whiting of Springville, who became Mrs. Allen R. Liefson in rites performed in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Oct. 12. Parents of the i groom are Mr. and Mrs. J. Victor Leifson of Spanish Fork. Since the groom was home on a short leave from the service, the young couple left immediately immediate-ly after the ceremony for Santa Maria, California, near Camp Cook, wherea he is stationed. For her going away the bride chose a maroon checked suit with black accessories. Preceding her marriage, the charming bride was honored with several parties and showers. Mrs. Donna S. Peterson of Murray, aunt, and Anne Whiting and her mother gave a shower at the Whiting Whit-ing home, with about fifty relatives rela-tives and friends in attendance. The rooms were beautiful with fall flowers and the mantlepiece was banked with arrangement of ulna and white delphiniums and pink rambler roses. Mrs. Mae Huntington gave a book review, "Little Boy Lost," and musical numbers were given by a vocal trio consisting of Do-reen Do-reen Fox, Ann Merie Fry and Janico Sargent. A tray luncheon was served by the hostesses. The bride, looking beautiful in a dress of black taffeta trimmed with rhinestone buttons, opened her many lovely gifts. The mothers and sisters of the bride and groom also gave a large party for her previously in the Spanish Fork Fourth ward. A program pro-gram was hedd in the chapel and a dainty luncheon was served in the recreation hall at tables, each centered with a rose in a bowl. Fall flowers in large bouquets and roses made the room beautiful. The gifts were arranged on a table, and about seventy guests attended. at-tended. The Seventh ward Sunday school officers and teachers entertained enter-tained for her Tuesday and presented pre-sented her with a gift of figurines. Friday of the previous week she was honored at a personal shower at the home of Carol Francis. Assisting As-sisting Carol as hostesses were Jeanine Cox, Carol Bray, Mildred Bohn and Ellen Loback. |
