Show Services held Monday for Elias A. Strong Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Monday in the First-Twelfth First-Twelfth Ward, for Elias A. Strong, 82, Springville carpenter carpen-ter and builder, who died Friday, Fri-day, October 16, 1964, in a Provo rest home. The services were in charge of Bishop DelMoine Christen-sen, Christen-sen, with burial in the Evergreen Ever-green Cemetery. Mr. Strong was bom Aug. 7, 1882, in Springville, a son of John Albert and Sarah Jane Huntington Strong. He received re-ceived his education in schools of Springville and married Per-nella Per-nella Emily Jones in 1905 in the St. George Temple. They made their home in Moore, Idaho, for a short time, then returned to Springville, where Mr. Strong had lived since that time. She died in 1952. He later marred Mary Ar-mina Ar-mina Hodgkinson. He was active ac-tive in the LDS Church until his retirement. He filled a short term mission in the Western States, and taught classes in Sunday School and in the priesthood quorum. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Twelfth Ward. Surviving are his widow of Vernal; three sons and three daughters: Earl Strong, Chicago Chi-cago 111.; Fred Strong and Mrs.' Byron (Emily) Tuttle of Springville; Mark Strong, Denver, Den-ver, Colo.; Mrs. W. W. (Pearl) Stevens, Honolulu, Hawaii; Mrs. Stewart (Hazel) Gates of Provo; ten step-children, Lowell Low-ell Hodgkinson, Henderson, Nevada Ne-vada ;Reed Hodgkinson, Ogden; Ralph Hodgkinson and Mrs. Carl (Rayola) Anderson, Murray Mur-ray Melvin Hodgkinson, Bountiful; Boun-tiful; Mrs. Garrett (Hilda) rase Vernal; Mrs. Charles (Wilma) Kindall and Mrs. Lee (Mary) Balch of Sacramento, Calif; and Mrs. Fred (Doris) S-ong of Springville; 27 grandchildren; grand-children; 27 great grandchildren; grandchild-ren; six brothers and sisters. Strong, Springville; Marvin Strong, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Washington (Bertha) Robertson, Spanish Fork; Mrs. May Child, Mrs. Ernest (Bessie) (Bes-sie) Brammell and Mrs. George (Maude) Harmer, all of Springville. Of the 10,297 men and women wo-men enrolled in our colleges of pharmacy, in the 1.963-64 f a 11 term of their final three years 1,365 were women and 8,9 were men. |
