Show Ladies Literary entertains guests Ladies Literary Club members mem-bers their mothers and guests were entertained on Thursday evening with dinner and a delightful de-lightful program on Mexico. Hostesses were Mrs. Virg Bird, Mrs. M. N. Moon, Mrs. Paul Thorn and Mrs. William L. Schreiner. Setting the theme for the evening were the Mexican motifs mo-tifs arranged about the entering enter-ing rooms and at the long dinner din-ner table which held floral center pieces in red, white and green to correspond with tiny Mexican flags and hand-made favors in corresponding colors. The Mexican program was worked out by Mrs. Bird. She secured her .cousin Ella Bent-ley, Bent-ley, to give the book "My Heart Lies South," by Elizabeth Eliza-beth Barton De Trevona. Mrs. Bird had met the author in Mexico and her cousin, who had also lived in Mexico, added interesting comments about the people and their customs. Preceding the book report, Elayne Clark of Provo, entertained enter-tained with several Mexican songs, accompanying herself also on the autoharp. Mrs. Bentley and Mrs. Virginia Larson Lar-son also entertained with several sev-eral piano duets of Mexican music. All entertainers were dressed in Mexican attire. Guests were presented with a violet plant raised by Mrs. Moon as Mrs. Bentley played the Mexican "Violetto" on the piano. Mothers and guests of members included: Mrs. Lee Anderson, Mrs. Brenda Black-ham, Black-ham, Pamela Anderson, Mrs. Nedra B. Fox, Mrs. Ella Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Mrs. Wilna Allred, Mrs. Helen Wright, Mrs. Peggy Childress, Mae Finley, Mrs. Jeri Winger, Faye Bearnson, Mrs. Janet Packard, Mrs. Ret-ta Ret-ta Harmer, Dorothy Harmer, Mrs. Betty Sumsion, Mrs. Del-la Del-la Sorensen, Mrs. Elaine Jackson, Jack-son, Mrs. Ruth Sumsion, Maria Johnson, Mrs. Nettie Thorn, Mrs. Anna Johnson, Mrs. Nyta Farrer. |
