Show WELL KNOWN CIVIC WORKER DIES OF HEART AILMENT Funeral services for Lawrence L. Beach, 42, well known Springville Spring-ville business man and' civic worker, work-er, who died Saturday evening, of ' a heart ailment at a Provo hospital, hos-pital, were conducted Tuesday afternoon, from the Masonic Hall, in Provo. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen cemetery, directed by A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. He was born in Lexington, Ore., in : 1905, and attended Whitman Whit-man college in Walla Walla, Wash. Later he went in business with his father at Lexington. In 1936 Mr. Beach befcame a salesman for Allis Chalmers company com-pany at The Dalles, Ore., and the same year moved to Logan to be Utah representative for the company. He came to Springville as .the company representative in 1940. Shortly after moving here, Mr. Beach went into business for himself, establishing the Culli-gan Culli-gan Soft Water service. Recently he sold this business and built the drive-in theatre as co-owner with Marvin Cox. Active in civic circles, he assisted as-sisted in organization of the local civil air patrol during the war, and helped establish the Spring-ville-Spanish Fork Flying club. He was a member of the Springville volunteer fire depart; ment for seven years, serving on the first aid and rescue squad. He has also been active in political politi-cal party organization work, a member of the Springville Lions club, and member of the Masonic lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lorrain Thompson Beach, whom he married Feb. 24, 1933; three daughters and a son, Kay; Dorothy Dor-othy Patricia, and Lawrence L. Beach Jr., of Springville; his mother mo-ther Mrs. Elsie M. Beach of Lexington, Lex-ington, Ore.; and two brothers, L. Edwin Beach of Portland and S. Harold Beach of Minneapolis. |
