Show IMPRESSIVE I SERVICES FOR JANE SANFORD Largely attended and impressive impres-sive funeral services were conducted con-ducted in the First ward chapel 1 Monday afternoon for Mrs. Jane Mendenhall Sanford, 70, wife of Charles I. Sanford of this city, who died Friday, at the family residence East Eighth South street. Mrs. Sanford had been in ill health for some time. The services were under the direction of Bishop A. G. Peterson. Peter-son. Daniel Witney offered the invocation. The speakers, each of whom paid fine tributes to the character and life of Mrs. Sanford, San-ford, were President J. Emmett Bird of Kolob stake; Mrs. Ella Reynolds, and Wilford Manwar-ing, Manwar-ing, the latter of the First ward bishopric. Music was by Mrs. Eileen Bird, who gave a violin selection, accompanied accom-panied by Mi's. Carl Davis; Ralph ! Weight and Mrs. Mary Bird gave a piano and organ duet; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown, a vocal duet, accompanied by Mrs. Lola Weight, and Elmer Huff, a vocal solo, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Davis. The benediction was offered by M. A. Boyer. A. W. Cherrington dedicated the grave at the Ever- j green cemetery. Mrs. Sanford was born in Springville, August 15, 1S66, a daughter of James H. and Caroline Caro-line Huff Mendenhall. She . had always lived in this city with the exception of three years spent at the Starr ranch near Nephi, shortly short-ly after her marriage. She was married to Mr. Sanford January 16, 1891, at Nephi. Her chief interest in-terest has always been with her home and family in which she took, special pride. She is survived by her husband and seven sons and daughters, Mrs. Florence Holley, Seattle, Wash.; 'Mrs. Blanche Holland, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Alta Huff and Mrs. Melva Smith, Salt Lake City; Mi's. Iris Jenkins, Fred and C. Mack Sanford, Springville; 16 grandchildren; 3 sisters and a brother, Mrs. A. V. Sanford, Springville; Mrs. T. M. Haymond, Los Angeles. Cal.; Mrs. ' Dan Fields, Eureka; Mai in Mendenhall, Menden-hall, Payson. |
