Show MRS. S. E. JONES SERVICES HELD Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day in the First ward chapel for Mrs. Sarah Lester Jones, 69. of this city, who died Friday afternoon, after-noon, of a heart attack followed by a stroke, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Gabbitas. Mrs. Jones was apparently in normal nor-mal health shortly before the heart attack Friday morning. She was born in Nottingham, England, August 26, 1866, a daughter of George and Maria Dych Lester. She came to Utah with her parents in 1875, the family first settling in Wales. She married John F. Jones, March 9, 1885. Shortly after her husband's hus-band's death in the Schofield mine disaster in. 1900, she moved to Springville and had resided here ' and at Thistle since. Her second husband was Thomas W. Jones. Mrs. Jones took a prominent part in the Relief society work in the Thistle ward during her residence there. She had been a teacher for many years. She is survived by the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Jane Shepherd, Frank, and Richard Jones, Thistle; Mrs. Martha Mal-oney, Mal-oney, Price; Mrs. Sarah Mason, Mrs. Gabbitas, George, and Thomas Jones, Springville; 40 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. |
