Show u c!M?x Me;? McKenzie Has 83 rd birthday , DARLEY ROBBINS GAVE A PARTY on the occasion of her tenth birthday birth-day Friday afternoon. From a long table holding a beautiful birthday cake topped with Santa Claus and his reindeer and with tall red tapers at either end, a delicious luncheon was served. Games were other enjoyable features of the party. The hostess was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Lyman Robbins. Guests included Jeanine Robbins, Gene Jenkins, Glenna Webb, Ronnie Ron-nie Jensen, Lee Robertson, Carol Holmes, Carol Francis, Kay Kendall, Ken-dall, Dale Long, Joyce Taylor, and Beverly Robbins. Mrs. Ellen McKenzie, pioneer resident of this city, widow of G. L. McKenzie, celebrated her 83rd birthday on Saturday, at her home on 10th South and Second West street. A number of relatives and friends called and sent messages of felicitations. Mrs. McKenzie was born in Springville and has made this city her home always. Since her marriage mar-riage to Mr. McKenzie in January, Janu-ary, 1883, she has lived in the same house. She has always been active In church and civic affairs. For 11 years, she was president of the Third ward Relief society. She was an officer in the early day Retrenchment Re-trenchment society, which later became be-came the M. I. A. She is a charter member of the Springville camp, D. U. P. Mrs. McKenzie has been president presi-dent of the Third ward Y. W. M. I. A. and an ardent temple worker. Her husband died in May, 1937. She has never had any children. VERSATILITY7 CLUB MEMBERS WERE GUESTS of Mrs. Eloise Bird at the home of her sister, Mrs. Evelyn Bird, on Thursday evening. The group enjoyed en-joyed sewing and a delicious luncheon. Attending were Harriet Strong, Helen Rowland, Marva Taylor, Geraldine Atkinson, Elzina Laney, Mae Miller, Eulalia Livingston, Harriet Burt, Minnie Walton of Provo, and Lucille Alleman, the latter a special guest. MRS. HAROLD ALLEMAN WILL BE CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Mothers' Study group at her home on Friday, December De-cember 12. An interesting program is planned plan-ned for the occasion, featuring Bertha Roberts in a travel talk. MRS. MARY SANFORD WAS HOSTESS WEDNESDAY to members of the Theta Tau club at her home. Christmas decorations were employed throughout the entertaining en-tertaining rooms and in luncheon favors. Bridge was the diversion following a delicious luncheon. Prizes for the game were won by Mrs. Gertie Ruff and Mrs. Dorothy Hazel. Mrs. Nola Palfreyman and Mrs. Marjorie Fullmer were special guests. The next meeting was announced announc-ed for December 17, in the form of a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Gladys Averett. ' |
