Show STUDENTS GIVE WASHINGTON BIRTHDAY TALKS Sponsored bv the international relations of Women's clubs, and commemorating George Washington's Washing-ton's birthday, a declamation festival fes-tival was heid at the high school Monday forenoon. The entertainment entertain-ment was given under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. M. R. Straw, first district chairwoman. The festival was in charge of the three federated clubs of Springville, the Alpha Beta, Home Culture and Mothers' Study club, which contributed a six months' subscription to each of the students stu-dents who delivered talks during the program and also to the department de-partment of social science which they represented. The students taking part were Pauline Clyde, who spoke on "Poverty;" "Pov-erty;" Tom Latimer, "Recovery;" Quenton Fletcher, "Old Aga Security;" Se-curity;" Carl Bird, "Medical Insurance;" In-surance;" Delia Baxter, "Neutrality." "Neu-trality." President Ada Barron of the Home Culture club made the presentations. Other program numbers were given from the high school department under the direction of Hugh Baxter. |
