Bye now, Lynne it Happened at The BEAU i Mrs. Robert Johnson and six guests helped Joni celebrate her! birthday with dinner and a beauti-l ful cake. Mrs. Mildred Radler gave a birthday luncheon for Lorraine Lor-raine Hopkins and six of her little friends. Once more the Beau served serv-ed ice cream and cake with their best wishes. Lorraine is a daughter daught-er of Mrs. Verla Hopkins. On Thursday, Mrs. Richard L. McConn had a birthday dinner for her husband. A number of their relatives who came from El-Paso, El-Paso, Texas, were there to join in the festivities. Friday afternoon, Mr. J. Colin Rowell was host for nine em- There was a lot of buzzin in ' the Olympus High "Hive the oth- er night. The Girls Association j was having a "Buzzin Cuzzin'" party. The senior girls are "Queen" bees, the junior girls, "Honey" bees and the sophomores were "Worker" bees. We bees had a lot of fun eating rolls and, honey and drinking our sweet nec-j tar, milk. At the end of our get-i together we stood in a great big' circle that w ent all around the j gym and sang the Olympus High Girls' Association Song. Come one, come all, to the Olympus High Seminary "Olym-j "Olym-j nival." That was the cry heard Thursday night at Fairmont Park. The different periods of Seminary during the day had booths of their own creation. There was a gift j center where you could get prizes jif you got a certain number of points from playing the games. We stood around and some of us jwere regular snowmen, we were so cold, because we didn't take ployees of the Rowell Dairy at aU dinner and business gathering. Frank S. Spooner was honored by thirteen of his fellow employees at a retirement party given on Friday. Mr. Spooner is retiring after thirty-five years of service. A beautiful gold trimmed cake with the inscription, "Health and Happiness in Your Retirement," was served. Mrs. Frank H. Peck, chairman of the social committee and the Longfallow School, made arrangements arrange-ments Friday for a dinner party honoring C. O'Brien Hyland, who is now serving as principal of. the ; Oawthorne School. Also honored was Zita Birkhaus, former sixth grade teacher, who is now principal prin-cipal of the Lowell School. There were 23 guests. Wendy Owens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Owens, Jr. was seven years old on Sept. 20. Her mother, grandmothers, Mrs. A.L. Thomas and Mrs. R. W. Owens;; her brother, Michael and 12 little friends helped celebrate her birth-' iday with luncheon Saturday. Wen-1 Wen-1 dy is a member of the birthday i club. The large birthday cake and lice cream were presented by the I Beau. Mrs. Merlin Clark gave a fare-i fare-i well luncheon for her friend, Mrs. ; Gavin Goudie who is returning to Peru after spending the summer in the city. Seven friends and relatives rel-atives were there on hand to wish her well on the trip. Mrs. Fred L. iGlindden was hostess at a bridge luncheon for her group of eight, Saturday. |
