Show FROM DEEP CREEK Thrco Excellent Copper and Gold Strikes Made Recently Ibapah April Probably the largest larg-est strike of coppergold ore In the Clifton district Is that made by Frank L and Clyde II Wilson on their group of claims laying one and a half miles north of Clifton The actual ore vein jLhree feet In width at a depth of twenty feet and la extra high grade In both gold and copper While the strike Is recent In date less than two weeks ago the vein Is well defined and continuous con-tinuous character The ore is highly surcharged with coper pyrltlca and associated with the oxide coarse gold Is frequently revealed without the old of mlncrnl glosses Tile mineralized zone In which this strike was made can be plainly traced for a distance of about two miles and Is In the heart of what Is known here as the copper belt A highly mineralized black needle spar Is one of the attractive features fea-tures of this zone and wherever this spar shows Itself its iiasoclate gold and copper Is invariably found in the Immediate neighborhood when not absolutely ab-solutely Intermixed wllh the Ore Itself It-self There are two distinct dykes of porphyry one on the cast and the other on the west of the vein both dykes have for their outside contact a rich mineralstained porpnyrlllc granite This character of granite seems to be peculiar to this zone alone and covers an area of about one and a half miles In width by probably three miles In length In places along this zone protrusions pro-trusions of quartzlte and lime doll mite and blue appear but not In extensive ex-tensive quantity except on the outsIde J out-side flanks of the porphyrltlc granite i 1 reierreu 10 jjter passing uiruusu me Wilson group the same ledge and spar matter continues northward through the StarWlno group owned by George A Henry and from thence through the Pole Star group owned by S K KIn ney Co and the Young Bros group On the south and cast and adjoining the Wilson property Is a group owned by Ji II Wolcott one by Fred Snlvely and sllll another by W Trlpp and son These groups cover the zone referred to but the Wilson brothers are the fortunate discoverers of the largest and most Important strike yet made In the district of this particular class of ore It Is the most important for the reason that it reveals the hidden values of this extensive belt In such a manner as to enable a more Intelligent development develop-ment of the whole and without which much blind work would have been done to bring to light thai which their discovery of a single hours lime has doneCOPPER COPPER AND CARBONATE The other two strikes one of pyrltlc copper and the other of a carbonate and oxide character have been made on the Henry Junior and the Belcher groups both showing ore very high In grade but not enough work on either has been done to warrant a lengthy description de-scription The construction of the Midas mill under the direction of Superintendent F E Darrlngton Is progressing as rapidly as the season will permit The saw mill having the contract for getting get-ting out the Umber Is now producing 4000 feet per day and within thirty days all the lumber will have been de livered I i From reputa j I tlon as bonanzas The ore from this property has shown Itself rich enough to ship by wagon transportation for the post two years Their deposit grows larger by 1 depth and It Is doubt ful whether ihe proprietors know Just how wide their veins are as the shaft Is In a continuous body of ore and having no crosscuts its width Is mere ly i matter of conjecture The Babcock group In Dry
