Show A. H. SHORTEN DEAD OF HEART DISEASE Alfred H. Shorten, cashier of The Telegram, Tel-egram, died at 6 o'clock Sunday morning morn-ing of heart disease, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Shorten, 217 West Fifth North streeL The deceased was conscious almost to the end. He complained about ten days ago, while at work in the office, of feeling HI, and was advised to go home. This he did, and then began a plucky fight for life, which he continued until his strength was gone. Alfred H. Shorten was 26 years old at the time of his death. Prior to his connection con-nection with The Telegram, which began be-gan at lta inception and had been continuous con-tinuous since, he was employed by Tut-tle Tut-tle Bros.. Harry Joseph and the Wilson-Sherman Wilson-Sherman company. When The Telegram started Mr. Shorten Shor-ten was made cashier, which position he held up to his death. He was recognized recog-nized as a thoroughly competent man. and was one of the valued and trusted employees of the paper. He had many firm friends, who will be shocked at the announcement of his death. The funeral will probably be held Wednesday. The arrangements will be completed tomorrow. |
